A perfect picture for the new year greeting would be a train on the Shindawane viaducts on the Miraj line – as seen from the distant Daund line, please. Accordingly, the grizzly, yet incorrigible bits of the Pune gang trekked from Uruli (URI) station on the Pune – Daund line to a convenient hill a few kms down the road for that perfect view. The fog, mist, smog and the sunlight from the wrong directions did not grant us that special image. Still, we got some pictures…. Ashish and Apurva arrived first on the site. Swaran did not wake up in time for the 0715 hrs departure and followed an hour later by another passenger train to meet us on top of that hill.
