A path used by gangmen to reach line B. The line B is maintained by a totally different set of Gangmen

IMG_0031

The Line B curves right from Walayar towards Palghat. Both the lines have derailers like these

IMG_0032

Amazing shape of railway track. Why is it bend? To my right is the loop and further right is the way to sidings at malabar Cement factory of Govt. of Kerala

IMG_0034

A look inside the Malabar Cements sidings

IMG_0038

Line B has les severe gradients thank Lin A. Here, the gradient is only 1 in 100 where as it was 1 in 50 for Line A at the same place

IMG_0045

Gangmen announce thier proud moments. I wonder who elase other than these gang men and people like us take notice of these small boards

IMG_0049

About a kilomtre into the forst is this oddily placed signal. The forest, turns and gradient means signals have to be placed at such odd points

IMG_0051

I heard the sound of a diesel while coming back. Had to run to catch a glimpse. Made it finally. And it is my friend from Ernakulam.....

IMG_0053

..... 18319 from Ernakulam leads Coimbatore-Mangalore Fast passenger. Diesels really shake the forsts.

IMG_0056

The cabin at Walayar, between the two lines is no longer used for the purpose it was meant for. It is now used as a rest room for Gangmen

IMG_0058

Ajni WAG 7 27354 leads a mixed open car empty freight train

IMG_0060

The mixed train rushes through Walayar. You know from this picture why I called the freight as "Mixed"

IMG_0066

The good shepheard pose with his flock. As a coincidence, his name was Govindan

IMG_0067

Another of Erode's fancy number locos, 17571 leads Mangalore-Trichy Express.

IMG_0186

Moving towards Tamilnadu side from Walayar. The line B branches to the left while Line A braches right. The entire place looks brown because of the fly ash and dust sprayed from the Malabar Cements factory. Govt. of Kerala has really spoiled the ecolog
