Beyond Tirap Siding on the Stilwell Road stands desolate Lekhapani, once the easternmost station in India, though the track did run a few km farther to Tipong Colliery. Lekhapani's importance peaked in 1942 when thousands of refugees from Burma were shipped from here to other parts of the country. Compare the elegant old-style water column with the modern Sintex tank! ()
