Man is often ignorant or unaware of the wealth he himself possesses. It was time Avishek Basu and I, Pramit Mitra took this up seriously. The regions in the interior of West Bengal, around the Jharkhand border, have been neglected a lot in terms of railfanning, whereas these regions are abound in beautiful curves, gradients and rivers in the lap of nature. So, with a view to fulfill this unfulfilled task, we set out for two trips trying to cover as much as we could. At Chhota Ambona, 43 kms from Asansol, an abandoned Block Hut atop a hillock witnessed us capturing trains on the two stunning S-curves while the giant Joychandipahar with its serene presence amidst the hum-drum of Adra provided us with the setting for our second trip. Thaparnagar, also in the Asansol-Dhanbad Grand Chord was an icing on the cake as a short session there turned out to be fruitful to our desires. Glide through the two albums as we take you through our trip through the unexplored West Bengal telling you a story at each juncture.
