The Quaint Narrow Gauge of the Central Plateaus
A Narrow Gauge section travelled less and covered less. Taking advantage of a pleasant weather, we decided to cover the triage of Raipur/Telibandha-Rajim- Dhamtari sections via Bhanpur junction where probably the only place in IR, 3 train stand together after Nainpur.
After switching tracks the Khalasi(not visible) has to again change the tracks. (Trayambak Ojha)
The loco reverses and returns to the rake to be attached, ready for the service. (Trayambak Ojha)
The Ng loco despite of being small still has an imposing presence in comparison to its tar road machines. (Trayambak Ojha)
Through the wild flowers and bushes, the train is ready to depart from Rajim back to Abhanpur and onwards to Raipur. (Trayambak Ojha)
We rush in time to capture the departure of the same train from Abhanpur again after a brief halt for breakfast. (Trayambak Ojha)
We head to Dhamtari to complete the triage of this section. Not much action or excitement here though as the precincts were calm and very dirty. (Trayambak Ojha)
