This is a much clearer picture. The operator's cab is visible to the left of the man standing on the tracks. The Tamping operation is controlled by this operator. Below the cab and to its right is a hook which is used to grip and lift the track. This ensures that the Tamper is securely attached to the track and does not move when the tamping tools are inserted into the ballast with considerable force. Bhusaval, August 2005, Khalid Kagzi.
