The date was 7th March 1997, the last steam train in Tinsukia division of NFR was hauled in Mariani-Jorhat Junction-Jorhat Twon- Furkating loop. A reversal was necessary at Jorhat Junction (popularly known as JPR -- Jorhat Provincial Railway of British era) during MG operations
