Its not often that you see a puny WDS4 0-3-0 shunter as glamorous as this! WDS4 # 19704 gleams in the afternoon sun as she runs light in the yard at New Delhi. Once the mainstay of shunting on the IR, the changing traffic patterns and much heavier trains have meant that these locomotives are proving to be slow and rather underpowered for the duties demanded of them. The class is being phased out due to this.In fact, these locomotives are no more being produced. The WDS4 is based on a German design.
