A rail fracture detected in time...saves a derailment report! The crack had propogated almost to the foot of the rail but was spotted in time and that section had just been turned over while the another rail was being fitted. This was particularly important since the fracture was on a rail on the turnout and the track was used by loaded goods trains only.Good work. Nagpur yard, 8th March 2005. By Alok Patel.
