Workhorses of the Bhore Ghats
This album contains pictures taken near Monkey Hill
First train of the day to be spotted was CSTM-PUNE Indrayani Express, with KYN WCAM3 #21958 in lead
As dual WCG2 bankers wait for brake testing halt, local traders hop on the buffers for a ride.
Another crack loco WCAM3 #21889 is the power for the CSTM-PUNE Intercity Express.
The Monkey Hill forms a nice background for loco of Pragati Express, led by KYN WCAM3 #21947
How will the monkeys with their long tails, adapt to situation, when the OHE is energised to 25KV AC? The amputed leg of the one in the picture, does not discourage him for climbing the poles.
KOP-CSTM Sahyadri Express with KYN WCG2 #20116 in lead takes the third line via Nagnath. This is a staff shuttle with halts at Monkey Hill, Nagnath and Jambrung
Green is the color of the carpet that the nature weaved over the catch sidings
Here comes the departmental rake, which will work on upgrading the OHE to support 25KV AC. KYN WDS4 #36122 is in the lead, while a CLA WDS4D #19640 is at the rear
CLA's WDS4D #19640 at the trailing end, would help the rake move in reverse direction, when required
The rake would now turn left and go towards Nagnath. Right on top of the hill in the background is the Behran Plateau
WCG2 #20115 goes light towards Khandala. Very rarely does one find a light loco going up the ghats.

Lovely emerald green color coating on earth. And I assure you monkeys will survive.
