It seems that IR has an Annual Maintenance Contract with the company that makes these microprocessor-based systems and whenever some fault has to be repaired, personnel from this firm are called over. The uP based unit replaces the dial type tap indicator - the absence of the tap indicator is partly responsible for the uncluttered look.
