HPS class were amongst one of the most successful broad gauge passenger locomotives in the Indian sub-continent. Initially a BESA design, these continued to be built up to 1950. This article from the Vulcan Foundry magazine is about the last batch of 15 HPS2 class locomotives built by Vulcan Foundry for East Indian Railway in 1949.
