After successfully using the initial 2-2-2 passenger locomotives design, East Indian Railway built these 2-4-0 passenger locomotives in large numbers. Vulcan Foundry supplied 24 locomotives in 1861. These were known as the E class, had 67" coupled wheels and 16 X 22 cylinders. Image provided by Graeme Pilkington, from the Vulcan Foundry web site.
