Goya Gate Workshop: Goya gate workshop was founded on 25th March, 1919 and foundation stone was laid by Viceroy Lord Chelmsford, who in his opening address said, "The establishment of workshop on the scale indicated in the repor which the Dewan had just read cannot fail tohave an important and highly beneficial effect on the industrial life of Baroda." By March 1922, workshop building was completed and most of the machinery had arrived. Workshop was working not only for GBSR but other railways also. by the end of 1924-25 there were four foremen, 15 charge men and 807 workmen. During 1923-24, out turn was 163 vehicles, two new saloons for Nawab of Rampur were constructed. The workshop was also working as a furniture shop and made furniture for Palace.(Bhaveen Patel)
