Works plate of the MG royal saloon of the Maharana of Jodhpur, from the Ajmer Workshops, 1888. The royal saloon (metre gauge) of the Maharana of Jodhpur was somehow stranded on the Pakistan side of the Munabao-Mirpur Khas line at the time of Partition. For some five decades it served as the saloon for inspecting officers on this metre gauge line. About 2008 (or 2009) it was shifted to the Railway Museum set up in the incredibly beautiful Golra Railway Station just west of Rawalpindi station. It sits there on the platform under a magnificent spreading banyan tree.
