Netravathi Express to Trivandrum arrives behind Erode WDM-3A #14140. If you look closely there seems to a lot of soot from the exhaust on the Long hood of the loco. But this is not symmetrical. Although the carbon deposits around the radiator may give the impression the loco is always run SHF it's unlikely to be the case! When running SHF (at speed) the engine exhaust gases trail past the (vertical) radiator outflow and are forced sideways,...
