WDM Pics
Page 2
Some of these pics were taken during my, fellow IRFCA'ians Vaibhav Sareen and Roopesh Kohad's trip to lucknow and varanasi. Other pics are from Delhi.
A WDM2 from Itarsi (ET) waits with an DN express on the Up line, just after
LKO, as our MEMU overtakes it. It was waiting for our MEMU to pass the points,
to come back to DN line.
A WDM2 from LKO passes through one of the station on LKO outskirts with
DLI-GHY Avadh Assam Express. The train was severely crowded with people hanging
from doors. These are the kind of trains which scare and prevent people from
going in trains.
During our trip to Varanasi, we managed to footplate in a WDM2 hauling the
passenger to MGS. This is the shot of the famous bridge over Ganga as the loco
prepares to enter the bridge.
After the previous pic, the camera focus started playing not-so-nice games.
So, the resultant pics did'nt offer much apart from the view of cab. This
was an attempt to catch an oncoming train (the blur towards the front) on
camera.
A view of the Ganga bridge as the loco makes its way through it.
Another view as the loco prepares to enter the bridge. This shot also
got messed up due to auto focus.
Another view of entering the bridge.
Back to Delhi. DLI-Rishikesh passenger starts from Vivek Vihar with a light
plume of smoke. You can notice the green starter just a bit ahead. The reason I
went to take this shot was that I had seen this train start with best of
exhausts for past three days and I was pretty hopeful to get the replay of those
moments. But unfortunately that wasn't meant to be. :-(
Two WDM2's run light towards GZB as they pass through Vivek Vihar. You can
barely spot the route marker (?) ahead showing the track change.
Another day, DLI-Rishikesh passenger approaches Vivek Vihar hauled by a LDH
WDM2.
A pic of the train approaching. Got exposed a bit so the resultant bad
quality. Still you can spot one of the common practices of the Delhi people, as
a person crosses the railway crossing with his bicycle even as the gate is
closed and the train is approaching. This goes on until the train is dangerously
close.
