These pics were taken by me while at and traveling to Faridabad, just outside Delhi.
A WAP 4 from Erode brings in 2625 TVC - NDLS Kerala Express at Faridabad, the
last CR station while coming towards Delhi from Mathura. After this NR territory
begins as Delhi area starts. The train , interestingly, has a Halt at this
station while going as well as coming while no other Express of its category
stops here.
A shot of the electric trip shed at NDLS where all the locos ,which are assigned
to go out on the same day, are stationed or locos from other divisions are
housed. On this day two Lallaguda WAP 4's were standing at the shed along with a
WAP 5 and a WAP 1 from GZB. The first one is clearly visible in the left corner
while the midsection of the other can be seen between WAP 5 and the nose of WAP
1 .
The New and the Old. In this shot as well as the above all three popular classes
of WAP series running up north can be see i.e. WAP 1, 4, 5. The midsection of
WAP 4 from Lallaguda can be seen between WAP 5 & 1 .
The above shots were of the trip shed facing NDLS while this pic is of the trip
shed facing Sadar Bazar Halt. You can see a WAP 4 from GZB standing behind the
WAP 5.
A closer shot of the shed. Here you can see two WAP 5's standing and
another one was standing behind them inside the shed.
A hazy pic of WAP 1 (No. 22005) from GZB, named Jawahar hauling the 2306 NDLS
- HWH Rajdhani Express. Note the black ppllates under the windshield of the loco
stating its Series and Serial No. This was done after this loco won the beauty
contest of locos which was held by NR in Oct.
WAP 1 (22038) from GZB passes with 2314 Sealdah Rajdhani. Interestingly, the
train approached with its brakes applied and was slowing down as it passed me.
The signal located few meters up on track was amber when the train passed it
which was quite amazing at a time when a Rajdhani is bound to pass.
The 2422 NDLS - Bhuvneshwar Rajdhani Express halued by WAP 5 (No. 30000) from
GZB shed passes at high speed. The hazy and unclear face of the loco is not a
result of bad photography but it actually shows the high speed of the train.
