WAM Pics
These are the locos which dominated the passenger part of IR until more specialized locos in fields of passenger and freight started dominating IR . Still these locos haul a fair share of trains on IR .
A WAM4 from MGS retreats into the shed at MGS. This shot was taken from the
cab of WDM2, in which we were footplating.
WAM4p (No. 21380) from GZB, hauls DLI -
HWH Janta Express on Shahadra (DLI- GZB) line . This is the most common livery for
WAM's belonging to GZB shed.
5206 NDLS - MZFPR , Lichchavi Express approaches
at high speed being hauled by WAM4p (No. 20694) from GZB shed . Again notice the
standard GZB livery for WAM's. It is at moments like this when you notice the
real potential of these locos.
The FZR- BCT Janta Express pulls in Faridabad with WAM 4/6p (No. 20632) from
BRC incharge. Note the 4 Milk cars attached with the train behind the loco. The
No. of the loco was written in quite amazing way on the side of the loco
resembling those which are displayed in Electronic clocks at Many railway
stations.
This really close shot of WAM 4p was taken by me as I spotted the loco coming .
Since the rails were at an elevated level I made a dash towards it with the
camera in hand and the shot which I took resulted in this. The loco in this pic
is the same one as in the first Pic but on a different day and location.
A WAM 4/6p from BSL brings in 2617 Mangala Lakshadweep Express at Faridabad.
A side shot of the WAM. Note the poster on the side of loco referring to
something political though not very clear what. These posters deface the railway
property all over India as they somehow manage to creep their way on to it.
WAM 4/6p (No. 21335) from Itarsi blasts through Faridabad with 2716 Sachkhand
Express. Note the WAG 9 standing on the next track. (Click here
for its story and Pics or visit the WAG section). Most Itarsi locos tend to wear
their shed name in Big letters on the Front.
