Why the different name for payments?

Banks require a registered legal entity as a percursor for account opening. Since IRFCA is not a legal entity as per the GoI, there was no alternative. However, please be assured that the payments you make will be solely used for organizing the conference.

Can I cancel my registration?

Yes, of course you can. If you have made a cancellation request before 31st of January then you get a full refund. After 31st of January there is a 50% cancellation charge applicable. However, if you transfer your registration to another member, then you are entitled to a full refund. Please note that refunds will be sent on or after 27th Feb 2006.

I need accomodation. Are there any budget hotels near the venue?

Yes, there are plenty of budget hotels near the venue. But in order to get you the best deals, the organizers are negotiating with hotels. So, please get in touch with Ashish with your exact requirements (no. of days, date and time of arrival and ofcourse, budget). Don't worry, stay isn't going to be a problem!

I want to speak at the convention. What should I do in this case?

You are more than welcome to share your thoughts with the rest of the attendees. However, please contact the orgainzers with full details about your talk. This must include the topic, approximate time taken and supporting material (slides, models etc;) that you intend to develop.

Is there a code of conduct or some special guidelines that are to be followed during the conference?

While this convention is meant to be fun and exciting, please bear in mind there will be a lot of people from different parts of the country. Please pay attention to their sensitivities before indulging in any loose talk.

There might be officials from IR who are likely to attend. Standard IRFCA conduct guidelines apply when interacting with them. Please do not force them into situations where they are uncomfortable and in particular, do not ask favours like footplating chances and loco shed visits!
