Spare a thought for the Keyman/Gangman who would have to traverse this unforgiving terrain in the peak of the heat!!! On which route does this line fall??

Spectacular shot Shanx!!! Amazing image, wish i was there! A Quote from my friend: 'What would happen if the loco failed in the middle of a desert with no help for miles?'

I am speechless! An amazing pic at a grand location.

Lovely shot, Shanx... I second Kharad's thoughts.. Poor persons who have to undergo this sheer harsh climate, to check the PWAY.

Thanks guys - this is the Jodhpur - Jaisalmer section. I took a passenger to Bhikamkor and then trekked 5km to reach this location.

What a beautiful photo! The drivers and PWAY guys both have to endure the hot desert.

I can only think about the Alco(s) chugging & thud-thud of the rake which will be heard for quite some time even after the train has passed, and long before it approaches.

heavenly shot!!

Nice.
There is one station known as 'Osian' which I think falls in this section. It's about 60 kms from JU. A small (not very small) patch of sand dunes is near to this station. I had visited this place in 2004-05. Even it's a good place for those who do not wish to undertake adventurous trips like this.

I'm speechless. It would have been real tiring walking on sand.
