The Permanent Way is of mettalic type in Pachora Jamner section, unchanged from the introduction of the line. Seen here is spherical cast-iron sleeper bearing the name of GIPR and date of manufacturing. Oldest of such sleepers seen were manufactured in 1869.
Also note the rail support mechanism. The rail chair, the iron key and the spike. The system is unchanged, a century and half old yet very much operational.
