Introducing Yadgir - a diesel paradise in IR
A trip by Shishir Jairam, Pawan Koppa and Santhosh Kulkarni on 14th and 15th December 2010 covering a location in the Guntakal divison of SCR. Situated on the Mumbai-Chennai mainline between Raichur and Wadi, this section is a true railfan and in particular a diesel-lover heaven! The location of the Raichur Thermal Power Station(RTPS) on this line ensures non-stop freight action, with most freights loaded with coal. Passenger action is no less, with a huge list of trains running on this section. A virgin unexplored rail tract, we present to you - YADGIR!
A photo series with an accompanying Trip Report by Shishir Jairam and Pawan Koppa.
The station board of YG has the name written in 4 languages, as all the station names in this part of IR. (Sant Kulk)
