DG4s and Semaphores!
A short trip to Birur, Chikjajur and Hosadurga Road done by Kunal Doddanavar and Pawan Koppa. This album includes trip pictures and the remains of the last few sections with sempahores on the SBC-UBL line before the entire line is replaced with MACLs.

Yet another passenger climbs the gradient and enters Hosadurga road from the Chikjajur side. 2010-01-02. (Pawan Koppa)
The return Chalukya headed towards Bangalore is lead again by a KYN WDG-3A #13557. The loco basks in the warm evening sunlight at Chikjajur. The train waiting on the other platform is the passenger about to depart towards Chitradurga. 2010-01-02. (Kunal D

Finally our return link arrives an hour late. The JS bound to Bangalore is led by KJM WDG-3A #13054. The overjoyed ALP poses for the camera! (Pawan Koppa)

Gr8 set of pictures from rarely visited section.This section i guess is one of the last few surviving semaphore sections in SWR.Brilliant work from Kunal and Pawan.
