Security men form a large part of the train's passenger complement. This is one of the most secured railway lines anywhere in the world.
Departing Qazigund - the snow is just everywhere. It is not a sight one would have ever associated with Indian Railways.
Hiller Shah Abad is now the highest station on the BG network in IR. It lies 1753.9m meters above sea level, nearly double the height of the previous record holder Simliguda.
The Pir Ranjal Range towers over Banihal. The line heads further into the mountains and into the longest tunnel on IR measuring 11km in length. (Neeraj Kumar 'Jaat')
