The Lines that United the Provinces
A journey from Gorakhpur to Lalkua on NER's once extensive MG system, undertaken by Mohan Bhuyan and Bharat Vohra at the end of September '08. An album containing mostly non railway content from the same trip is available here. Trip report is available here.

MACL signals on gantries on the double track MG section between Bareilly City and Izzatnagar. The second track is used for stock transfer between Izzatnagar's loco shed & workshop and the Bareilly area. It is in the process of being converted to BG. (

Wagon POH is still carried out at Izzatnagar. Along with New Bongaigaon on the NFR, Izzatnagar is one of the last shops on IR still undertaking wagon POH. (Bharat Vohra)
#32074 is a 'T' class steam loco, preserved at Izzatnagar workshop. The last 10 of this class were homed at Gorakhpur and Charbagh sheds on NER. (Bharat Vohra)
#1135 is a 35 Ton steam operated breakdown crane, built at Izzatnagar in 1970. (Bharat Vohra)
