On The NG : Nagpur-Chindwara and the Motibagh Museum
What's over the edge? A compressed tele-photo shot of the endlessly straight NG line from Itwari to Khaprikheda.
At Patansawangi, we meet our twin, the 2 NNJ on its back journey to NGP with ZDM3B #180, unlike our own ZDM4A! Dr Akash Bang
At Patan Saongi: The guard and asst. bring out their flags in full glory at we depart for Saoner.
Our 1 NNJ Pass leaving Patansawangi. Presence of many “PH” stations en route makes crossings possible at certain stations with at least 2 lines, Patansawangi being one of these. 2 NNJ can be seen waiting for its turn to depart. Dr Akash Bang
Leaving Patansawangi behind, our 1 NNJ speeds ahead to come back from the loop to the same main line where far behind, 2 NNJ can still be seen waiting. In Srini’s words, where such Token system exists, the latecomer is always the first one to get cleara
This was some great and rare sight for me- a BG-NG Diamond crossing! Dr Akash Bang
The power of 1 NNJ Pass, ZDM4A #223, awaits departure at Saoner. At all the stations en-route, an unusual observation is 4 language station boards. And why should URDU, of all the languages, be here as the 4th language in Maharashtra and MP when it never

Railfans Bharath (Right) and Ranga (Left) rush back as 1NNJ sounds a departure horn. At Lodikhera, ZDM3 #197 could be seen awaiting its departure: Another instance of latecomer leaving first! Dr Akash Bang
Lodikheda: Ready to depart. Wisps of smoke from the loco lend a very atmospheric touch to the image.
At Sausar: The hills beckon us. No change in amount of people inside coaches though!
A running view of the 1NNJ – most of the passengers are fastidious about buying tickets and the trains are very crowded indeed. A large number of rural and semi-rural dwellers depend on the NG train for transportation – this is no tourist line but a h
As the day sets, we cross the Kanhan river to arrive into the Ramkona yard. The Nagpur – Chhindwara track is quite well kept and we saw a number of gangmen on foot and on hand push as well as motorized trolleys maintaining the line. The tracks are amazi
As the sun descends to the horizon, the NG tracks start shining more and more! Dr Akash Bang
The hills beckon the tourists as the sun sets at Ramakona station. Sachin kneeling down to frame a shot. Dr Akash Bang
Wiggling out way through the forest after Ramakona. This is a wonderful section with steep climbs and sharp curves. No BG can thread it's way through this.
