The Vindhyas beckon....
A set of images captured on a daylong journey across the famous spiral at Dhulghat and the ever fascinating ghats from Kalakund to Patalpani by 15 railfans. The partners in crime were Abhishek Nair, Akshay Marathe, Bhushan Kale, Binai Sankar, Bizzy Mishra, Colin Peter, Dilip Setlur, Jayasankar Madhavadas, Karan Desai, Karthik, Kaushik Dharwadkar, Nitin Master, Ramdev Gowda, Shantanu Kulkarni and Vibin Andrews. (Some images taken during these members' journey to Akola, and on their way back to their home bases are also included) The event was on the 14th of March 2009.
MG Graveyard-1: A heart-wrenching sight, the skeletal remains of a bygone MG era scattered about, and a few survivors watching gloomily. 2009-03-15, Bizzy ()
MG Graveyard-3: YDM's counting their final countdowns, while seats, door-panels and shutters lay scatterad about. This very loco, GTL 6228 was spotted during a GTL trip in 2006 with SC gang. It can be seen live in action here: [URL]http://www.irfca.org/ga
The journey finally ends! The Assistant waves the green as the starter turns green for the 6613 Express at Krishnarajapuram. Ramdev can be seen pointing out sanding to Colin.. the recently famous "Hanging Bridge" of Krishnarajapuram can be seen
A child enjoys his ride and also the attention he is getting from a bunch of crazy camera-wielding guys onboard the 458B MG Passenger. ()
We were warned by many that we would be baked in the March heat on this route but this is what greeted us- dark clouds, cool breeze, lightning and drizzle. Believe it or not, this pic was taken at noon! (Karan Desai)
Colin Peter enjoys his last minutes of peaceful sleep on the Middle Berth before he was rudely woken up by mischief-making railfans! (Only he can describe how it was exactly done!) (Karan Desai)
Ratlam station at midnight! The Mumbai gang spent seven hours from 2100 hours to 0400 hours next day here! (Karan Desai)

Congrats guys for the trip. It must have taken a lot of effort to put it together...perhaps first of its kind in IRFCA?
