In response to a query arising from my recent shot of 'Lion' in the First Class Gallery regarding the pulling power of such a loco, I submit this shot taken at the same time. As you can see the old timer was not given an easy life! (mick Pope)

Regarding Aseem's comment: Khatauli and Daurala are stations on the Saharanpur-Meerut-Delhi section. These sugar factories are close to this line. These NG lines were basically for carrying sugarcane from the fields to the factories, and may not have been very close to the regular lines. Anyway, they were not near the Shamli line. One of these lines could be seen from the regular trains near Pabli Khas in the 1970s.

was it linked to Delhi Shahdara - Shamli - Sahranpur NG line at any point of time?
