The oil fired X-class loco, named "Nilgiri Queen" passes by. There is very little smoke due to the oil burning. These locos, though babies compared to the YP and YG mammoths that criscrossed India, produce all the charm and romance of steam!! A must see for a railfan. NMR, 1 Dec 2003. By Jimmy Jose.

The oil burner doesnt seem to be half the fun as compared to the coal fired ones. The coal smoke has an alltogether different kind of aroma.
