This seems to be a dual purpose machine - the boom crane seems to be meant for handling long items like rails and sleepers. The large prime mover and the shunter configuration means that it can do other work as well.

I must admit I've never seen this loco in all my Ajni prowlings. I wonder if it is a new loco. Either that or I have failed my Nagpur IRFCA chapter duties ;-).
