The photo is shot an angle to the line rather than in parallel, plus the camera may as well be skew - that's the reason for this dramatic looking tilt.

14 LHB coaches + 1 WDM3D is roughly 350m in length. If the gradient is 1:37 at Monkey Hill, then the SLR may be 9.4m above the loco!
